Discover the beautiful Altmühltal on foot, by bike or by canoe!
Azur camping Altmühltal in Kipfenberg is located in the middle of the nature park Altmühltal on the slowest river in Bavaria, the Altmühl. The landscape is like a picture book with water, meadows, bizarre rock formations, but also castles, palaces and romantic towns. Almost from the campsite you step directly into a canoe for a wonderful canoe trip on the slowly flowing Altmühl. One of the most popular cycling routes in Germany runs along the Altmühl and the campsite: the Altmühltal Radweg. Due to the extensive network of hiking and cycling routes, the Altmühltal Nature Park is a popular region for active holiday seekers. And after an active day you can relax at the friendly family campsite Altmühltal!
Right next to the campsite you can rent a canoe or boat for your cruise on the Altmühl. The children know how to enjoy themselves on the nature playground with climbing garden or with a game of table tennis. While they are playing, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or another snack on the terrace of the Bistro or in the accompanying Biergarten.
Are you a fan of fishing? Then you don't have to go far and you can fish right at the campsite in the Altmühl. Fishing licenses are available at the reception. Camping Altmühltal has a modern, new sanitary building. And for the necessary groceries and of course fresh bread in the morning there is the camping shop.
The public outdoor pool is about 800 meters from the Altmuhltal campsite (to pay on the spot). The center of Kifpenberg can be reached on foot (approx. 600 meters). Here you will find several cozy restaurants to enjoy tasty Bavarian dishes.
At Azur Camping Altmühltal you can completely relax and the area offers so many possibilities that you will run out of time!
Please note: From August 9 to 12, 2024, the Limesfest in Kipfenberg will take place near the campsite Altmühltal. This will make it more crowded on the campsite and in the surrounding area, which may cause some inconvenience. Of course, as a campsite guest, you are welcome to participate in the various festivities.
