News and current affairs
At Rent-a-Tent, we do everything to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly. However, we do not have control over some matters such as a severe weather conditions, political disturbances, forest fires, or earthquakes at your holiday destination. Of course, we always keep a close eye on such situations. We are in contact with our own Rent-a-Tent couriers on the campsite and with the staff of the campsites in Europe.
Corona
I have made a reservation, what happens to it now?
At this time, your reservation can continue as normal. Should the traveladvice change for your campsite or destination shortly before arrival, our reservation department will inform you personally by phone or email about your reservation, the current situation and, if applicable, will find a suitable solution with you.
Can I cancel because of the Coronavirus?
Currently, the regular bookingconditions apply, until the actual openingdates of our accommodations. Rent-a-Tent follows the reports and assesses per day, per campsite and number of reservations which measures must be taken for the safety and health of our guests. However, within normal terms and conditions and at least 5 days before arrival. For reservations with arrival in May, June, July and August, there is currently no reason to cancel because it is still more than 30 to 130 days before arrival. You can change your booking to another period or destination in consultation with our reservationdepartment..
Can I still book for a camping holiday?
Yes, you can make a reservation for a camping holiday. Daily, reservations are also made via the website and with our international touroperators. All campsites on our website are currently still accessible from the set openingdate. We also keep a close eye on logistics matters such as sending a manager couple prior to your arrival and the construction of the tents by our constructionteams in Europe. If the situation changes that much, we will look at the openingdate of our campsites and reservations and look for solutions with our guests if applicable.
How do I receive information for (short) departure? When we receive information from the destination or campsite that your holiday may be affected by such a calamity or cannot continue, we will of course inform you as soon as possible. How we inform you depends on the nature of the calamity and your departure date. Our reservations department will inform you by e-mail or telephone. We would like to point out that the possibility of booking or canceling the holiday in a tent or mobile home free of charge before departure is determined by calamity and depends on various factors, including the travel advice from the Ministry.
How will Rent-a-Tent now build the tents?
We currently have constructionteams in Europe working at destinations and campsites where the color code green and yellow is in effect. We ensure the safety and health of our employees. In order to ensure that the start of the new campingseason runs as smoothly as possible, construction will continue as far as possible in destinations where there is no Coronavirus. The constructionteams naturally take the necessary precautions. As a result, Rent-a-Tent regulates the work of the constructionteams on campsites where construction can and may be carried out.
What precautions does Rent-a-Tent currently take?
Rent-a-Tent has now taken measures at our rural office in Markelo, the Netherlands, to safeguard the situation for our departments and has instructed employees to work partly at home. The messages from the Dutch government and RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) both in the Netherlands and abroad, are continuously monitored in order to keep as optimally informed as possible about the most current situation. Subsequently, action is taken according to the current situation and/or precautionary measures are taken, such as the later opening of accommodations at campsites in Europe.
